Lamezia Terme, in Catanzaro, Calabria, officially came into being in 1968 after combining three different former municipalities of Nicastro, Sambiase and Sant'Eufemia Lamezia. This Roman Catholic cathedral in Nicastro was built by the Normans in 1904. A lot of years later the place was destroyed in an earthquake and was rebuilt in 1675. The facade is built in Neoclassical style and has a bust with sculptures depicting the bishops of Nicastro. The wooden choir stall from the 18th century has also been retained.
